If these letters look familiar they're in chapter 3 page 4-5; the fog scene! If I ever get around to re-doing every page I'll make the text red like this page. Lilith's shocked, eyeless, face does something to me.

Sorry! She is not a lich or any kind of undead! Good guess though.

Okay, Kyoni's appearance doesn't seem to be what I've seen of dark magic, although the lettering does look familiar.

Given that the lettering has a specific layout, it looks to me as if it forms a shield which cloaks her on the one hand while possibly preventing her from accessing whatever powers then image represents on the other. I'm guessing that someone put it on her to protect her.

I don't know enough about the various magic disciplines in this story to speculate further. :)

You've made some good points. Hopefully in a few chapters I can go deeper into it. You might be on to something about the Shield and not having anything to do with dark magic. The text actually appeared back in chapter 3! Some of the same words too. Though the "shield" part wasn't in chapter 3 the symbols were.

Well... that's concerning.

Let's see, Floating demonic eyes, burning script, blood flowing from head orifices, and the hands which are either reaching for Kyoni or are about to play the worst game of "guess who?" with Lilith.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to remember that either.

Hahaha the "guess who?" got me laughing.

A simple game of 'fortune reading' gone horribly awry.
